Breakfast Television Appearance!

What a fun time on BT! The day began very early, as we had to be in the studio at 6 a.m.! As I was preparing the food for the show, staff came over and introduced themselves, as I chopped, peeled and prepped. They also helped themselves to the goodies I brought – a HUGE plate of cookies, which by the time I was on, had almost disappeared :-) My famous Banana Muffins were a hit, as was the carrot cake.

Just before 7 a.m. I was doing my promo. We watched as Ty Pennington came into the studio – that guy sure has a lot of energy, and was gone as quickly as he came. At just after 8 a.m. I was back in the kitchen talking to Dina about my recipes and getting ready for my spot. I couldn’t believe that I wasn’t nervous at all, and I had so much fun *quickly* whipping through my recipes. Before I knew it, we were done the segment. I got a quick photo of Dina and I and then started to pack up. I had to laugh as staff members swooped in and cleaned up the rest of the goodies I had brought. I’m really glad they liked them!

We headed back to the hotel, with 2 cranky kids. We had planned on spending the day in the city, and taking in the CN Tower and some shopping, but the kids just wanted to sleep, and I didn’t have much energy either, so we headed home for Guelph.

The experience was so much fun, and I really can’t wait to do it again!

I hope to have a link to my segment to share here soon – I will see what I can do!

Here is a wonderful summertime recipes for grilling juicy flavorful chops that have been brined overnight and served with grilled fresh peaches. Grilling the peaches brings out the flavor by caramelizing the natural sugar. Baste them with butter, honey, and bourbon as they grill to make them shiny and even more flavorful
