So, I didn’t get the pierogies done today as planned – I know, my bad! I was thoroughly enjoying an afternoon to myself. I made jewelry, went for a long walk, and just enjoyed some quality time with me, and the thought didn’t even cross my mind until mid afternoon. I will make them soon, [...]

Pierogi Recipe

So tomorrow, I am going to embark on the pierogi-making adventure in my own kitchen. Okay, well, maybe it’s *not* an adventure, but it’s always fun to [...]

I thought it was pretty good, but as usual, I left thinking about how it was made and resolving to make my own [...]

Sweet Potato and Chick Peas Curry

Sweet Potato and Chick Peas Curry

In an effort to eat more vegetarian meals after our 4-year-old recently declared he does *not* eat meat, I am experimenting in the kitchen today, and currently making a sweet potato and chick pea curry. It was so easy! I found a recipe on a vegan blog, modified it (a lot) and made this rendition. [...]

Roasted Asparagus

…and speaking of vegetables, this is another quick and good way to cook em’! Roasting veggies doesn’t remove as much of the good nutrients that boiling does, and they taste great done this way – such a nice flavour!

Barbequed Parsnips Recipe

This recipe was entered into my recipe contest by Kathy and Carol.  It was an *almost* winner – it sounds great (even though, I must admit I have never even tried parsnips) but when I do, this is the recipe I will use!
Barbequed Parsnips
Buy parsnips that are young and fresh.  Older, woody parsnips won’t work [...]
