Pineapple Cheese Ball

It’s not all that often that I post appetizer recipes, so today I thought I would post this crowd-pleasing cheese ball recipe. It’s YUMMY – and it freezes very well. If you prefer, make it into two smaller balls, and freeze one for later.
Pineapple Cheese Ball
2-8 ounch packages cream cheese
8 1/2 ounces crushed pineapple, drained [...]

Garlic and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Garlic and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

So, I didn’t get the pierogies done today as planned – I know, my bad! I was thoroughly enjoying an afternoon to myself. I made jewelry, went for a long walk, and just enjoyed some quality time with me, and the thought didn’t even cross my mind until mid afternoon. I will make them soon, [...]

Pierogi Recipe

There are about as many variations on making pierogi as there are people who love them, and homemade pierogi are so much better than and store bought variety. So tomorrow, I am going to embark on the pierogi-making adventure in my own kitchen. Okay, well, maybe it’s *not* an adventure, but it’s always fun to [...]

Say “Cheese” Cheese!

Say “Cheese” Cheese!

I guess that’s just par for the course when you have a cooking blog – the food has to pose, get carefully arranged and placed, and then ptotographed before being devoured! Still, even though I’ve been blogging (mostly about food and cooking) for 5 years now, it seems strange [...]

Ukrainian Beef Goulash

Ukrainian Beef Goulash

It’s been really cold here these past few weeks. Rick Mercer from CBC has been known to refer to these short days of winter as the “Canadark” and agreeably, it sure feels like we’re in the midst of that right now. I find myself pining away for my gardens. I miss the herb garden the [...]

Cookie Pizza Recipe

Cookie Pizza Recipe

Kids love to help out in the kitchen – well, at least mine do. I think it’s in their blood! This is a fun project that takes a few minutes to prepare, and that the kids can decorate with you after it’s baked. Colourful, sweet and fun. A giant cookie covered with all sorts of [...]
