if you wanna hint, if you put ice in the water that you use for the pastry, it will flake up more when you bake it. also, i remember gram’s butter tarts. dee lish us. yup.
also, another christmas tradition with the family – wearing reindeer and swans in our hair!!!

So glad you have honoured your Gram in this way. She baked up until the last few months of her life, and it’s true that her pies were especially good. Now if only we can manage her sponge jello!

I used to think my mom made the best pumpkin pie. Then a few years ago I asked her for the recipe and she told me she just used the one on the back of the can of pumpkin! I’ve been asked to bring 2 pies to Thanksgiving this year, so I might just try your recipe!

(btw, your menu is way off to the left on my 1680×1050 screen – not so bad on the 1280×1024 though)
