One of the most wonderful things about being a mother is that you get to experience life through the eyes of your children. Seeing your child’s wonder at seemingly simple things makes you want to slow down, and examine them close-up.
This weekend, amidst the regular yucky “housework” and other not-so-fun tasks, we have taken Liam to two different parks in the area. The first, a local park called Nick’s Dragonfly Playground, which was created as a memorial to a Guelph youngster who died of Muscular Dystrophy. Liam had a fabulous time exploring these new surroundings.
Yesterday, to celebrate Canada Day, we took a trip up to Riverside Park. There were many exciting activities going on, including free carousel rides and a petting zoo. It brought tears to my eyes watching my husband and son riding the carousel. What a wonderful lasting memory…
You have what I want! What great pics and wonderful lasting memories you continue to create with each new day.
How we remember taking you to that very carousel when you were little! And for us it was a two hour drive!
Now my ambition is to see Liam ride the beautiful carousels near the lake shore in North Bay where I grew up.
And please tell Rebecca her time is coming . . . she should just keep imagining the future she wants. It is waiting for her if she makes a space for it in her life. Good things do happen to good people(this last for Rebecca from Poppa Carl).
